My Story
In 2012 I founded Ignite Purpose with one clear mission — to bridge the gap between people and performance through human connection, courage and growth.
1970s
Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Born into a family of Pentecostal ministers, raised on love and service. As a girl of mixed heritage she meets racism and judgment early — and begins a life spent dismantling the limits placed on women.
At 17
“Girls don’t do that”
She tells her father she wants to become a minister and is told girls don’t. An early lesson in limits — and the seed of BRAVE Women in Leadership.
1996
The front desk
Married at twenty-one, working in a department store, she saves to study and starts as a receptionist — leading the customer service team within six months.
2003
A team written off
At AchieveGlobal she takes a team dismissed as underperformers and — through purpose and connection — grows them into the highest-performing team in a global franchise.
2008
Two pink suitcases
She moves to Australia with her two small children and two pink suitcases, leading sales teams through the GFC and learning what keeps people believing.
2012
Ignite Purpose is born
One clear mission: bridge the gap between people and performance through human connection, courage and growth. A PTSD diagnosis becomes the turning point — healing becomes the foundation of everything she teaches.
2019
Author & podcast host
Oscar the Pufferfish — inspired by her son’s story — becomes her first book, and the Ignite Purpose Podcast goes live.
2021
Stories that grow people
Astra the Unicorn and GROW ME are published. She certifies in Positive Intelligence and deepens the mental-fitness work.
2023
Global CEO
Ignite Purpose goes global across four continents — with measured outcomes for doctors, nurses, executives and leaders.
2024
London & The Glass Angel
She opens Ignite Purpose UK, launches IP Media, and releases The Glass Angel — her most personal book yet.
2026
The homecoming
“I carry Africa in me. It is time to bring the work home.” BRAVE: The Courage to RISE launches in South Africa this Women’s Month — with BRAVE Women in Leadership events in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
